The new passenger air traffic statistics show that Warszawa/Modlin Airport does not have to fear about its future.
In October 2014 the Airport served almost 165.366 passengers within 1.040 flight operations which means a 11,5% growth of the number of passengers in comparison to the previous month.
Currently there is one airline operating in our airport – Ryanair.
One airline but still this is the largest airline in Poland and one of the largest airlines in Europe that generates such a large air traffic at our airport that next year we will reach the level of 2,5 million passengers.
Therefore already now we are planning to enlarge the terminal.
This reconstruction will enable us to have a growth in 3 years time of ca. 2-2,5 million
passengers more yearly – says Piotr Okienczyc, the Chairman of the company that manages the airport.
– Each month we notice a growth not only in the passenger air traffic and the number
of flight connections, but also the general commercial, catering and service offer of the terminal is growing.
Day before yesterday a new cafe was opened and also this month we will open a new mini-market, and in December a pharmacy shop.
Since the beginning of 2014 Warszawa/Modlin Airport’s offer was used by 1,4 million passengers within 9.000 flight operations.
It means that in the total – during 2014 the airport will have checked-in 1,6 million passengers.
